The rise of the right-wing and far right politics that has taken place in Brazil over the last decade has made use of the weapons of democracy. Principles such as freedom of expression, religion, protest and popular sovereignty are employed in strategies that undermine these same freedoms and rights.
This is a dangerous path for contemporary Brazilian politics, and one that cannot be ignored.
This book brings together a collection of analyses of radical strategies, reactionary arguments and the actions of conservative groups made up of agribusiness (“Beef”), interest groups on public security (“Bullet”) and religious groups (“Bible”), in the various aspects of Brazilian daily life.
